What Is Somatic Breathwork?

Somatic Breathwork is a therapeutic, body-based practice that uses intentional breathing patterns to activate the nervous system, release stored tension, and access emotions held below the level of conscious awareness.

Unlike traditional talk therapy — which primarily works through cognition — somatic breathwork works through the body, where unprocessed experiences, emotions, and survival patterns are often stored.

Why the Body?

Real change doesn’t begin in the mind — it begins in the body. Most of us carry emotions we never had space to feel, stress we never fully processed, and nervous system patterns formed to protect us. Over time, this can show
up as:
• Anxiety or emotional overwhelm
• Chronic tension or fatigue
• Burnout or exhaustion
• Feeling numb, disconnected, or “far from yourself”
• A sense that something inside you is still holding on

Breathwork is one of the few practices that doesn’t just talk about healing — it creates
the conditions for it.

Through conscious breath, the body receives a new signal:
“It is safe to let go now.”

How It Works

Through specific breathing rhythms, the body gently shifts from a state of protection into one of safety and regulation. As oxygen levels change and the nervous system receives new cues, deeper layers are able to unwind without force.

What a Somatic Breathwork Session Looks Like

Each session is guided with care, presence, and respect for your body’s pace.

• Sessions last approximately 75–90 minutes
• We begin with a brief grounding and intention-setting
• You are guided through specific breathing rhythms while lying down
comfortably
• Music and verbal cues support the journey
• Emotional or physical sensations may arise — you are always supported
• There is space at the end for rest, integration, and reflection

You are never pushed beyond your capacity.
Your nervous system sets the pace — safety comes first.
